Why it matters
The Aquastrong PSP300PM 3 HP Variable-Speed Pool Pump is a 3 hp variable-speed above-ground pool pump rated for up to 189 GPM. Allowing for typical above-ground pipe and filter resistance, that flow turns over a pool of up to about 72,600 gallons every 8 hours.
Variable speed lets it run slowly for most of the day, which uses far less energy than a single-speed pump moving the same water, and speed up for cleaning or heating. It runs on 220 volts.
The listing gives dimensions of 27 inL x 13 inW x 9.75 inH and cast iron, plastic construction.
